Atrial fibrillation is the most common heart rhythm disorder in the UK. Dr Harding is expert at the use of ablation to reduce and prevent AF symptoms. We carry out these procedures with an expert anaesthetic team and comprehensive surgical backup.

We use cardioversion to reset the heart rhythm, typically after an atrial arrhythmia such as fibrillation or flutter has been diagnosed. Dr Harding offers cardioversion procedures under general anaesthetic across a range of local private hospitals.

Angioplasty and stenting is a procedure used to treat ischaemia heart disease (narrow coronary arteries) and angina. We work closely with coronary specialists to deliver these procedures promptly and locally.

Dr Harding implants and manages cardiac defibrillators. He is expert in patient selection and implantation, both of traditional (“tranvenous”) and newer subcutaneous devices. We offer defibrillator implantation and monitoring across a range of our partner hospitals.

An EP study can be used to diagnose the cause of palpitations and irregular heart beats such as atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, atrial flutter and ectopic beats. We carry out EP studies with or without ablation therapy at a range of private hospitals across Kent and London.

This test is used to confirm narrowing and blockage of the arteries of the heart (“coronary arteries”) prior to placing stents or recommending a bypass operation. We work closely with experts in this technique to provide rapid diagnosis of coronary artery disease.

Where palpitations or syncope (passing out) is infrequent and difficult to predict, we may suggest implantation of a monitoring device under the skin to diagnose abnormal heart rhythms. Dr Harding implants, removes and manages these devices routinely.

Pacemakers are simple electrical devices that prevent the heart beat from going too slowly. Dr Harding is expert in these devices. We provide pacemaker implantation and maintenance procedures at local private hospitals.

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is a common heart rhythm abnormality that can cause intrusive symptoms. Dr Harding is expert in the use of ablation therapy to treat SVT.
